The one I've linked to says: "AC/DC adaptor and 12V car plug included."

Ah, I should have read the blurb! It should be fine then. Good price too!

I'll pick it up at the weekend then. Will get cyalumes from Glowshop on Hagley Road in Brum.
How many oil paintings do we need?

Dave B may have a proper search lamp for the 222 by then. If so, no worries, a walking patrol can use it or a bod in the combo sidecar. The fact it only lasts 20 mins is an advantage not a disadvantage for our purposes!
Cyalumes - single colour only so no confusion about what they mean. Red means don't shoot!
Oil paintings I'll sort.

For £15 the torch is a good thing to have anyway.
Will get red cyalumes.

I've got a det box and wire that will do for the "clacker and wire". I'll throw it in the bag with all of the other stuff.

Two further points re Steiner's questions.
Ammo limits.
While I think 300 rounds was fine at Ariel, given the distances involved getting to regens (and the fact that it will get mighty boring walking back and forth - one of the mistakes at Arnem) perhaps the more usual 600rnd might be more satisfactory?
Grenades
I don't think we should tell them that we have issue grenades. Let 'em buy their own and ours will cover commander-organised attacks rather than ad-hoc player lobbing.
If we are agreed on that then could Stephen confirm with Jamie that they will have them for sale and how much. I assume they are OK about pyro being brought in as long as it is TLSFX.

Ammo limits - agreed
Grenades - agreed.
Also, are we going forward with the idea of "executions" for disobedience/failure? I think it will ram home the brutality of the Russian Front, as well as minimise freelancing.
I also think we need to reiterate the fact that we're NOT stopping for lunch and recommend players bring foodstuffs that don't take much preparation in game.
It never ceases to amaze me how players never seem to read the event information that is there for all to see and then moan on the day that they don't know what's going on!

Good point - I've reiterated 'lunch'.
"executions" for disobedience/failure. I don't see why not - I have no idea how you will implement it though! I guess it is the sort of thing that would lose the 'fun' element as the day progresses so perhaps you had best play this by ear? Wait until you have plenty of witnesses then pull someone out to have an example made of them?

My thoughts exactly. No need to overdo things! To quote Enemy at the Gates - "We need to make examples, examples to be followed", so we can extol heroism as much as we punish failure, if not more so. I want to make them feel like they're in the Red Army for a few hours. ![]()

I think the Ruskies are going to have some fun! The chap with the maxim has been quiet for a while ![]()

Wildfire? I doubt he'll have a Maxim. Not to worry, there's Super Comrade Commisar Pjotr Dunnofasonovabitch" ready to "encourage" them with an MP40 and a 1911!

How shall we put up the regen flags? A couple of long nails hammered into the rock? It's very soft damp sandstone and the two flag eyelets can be popped over them to hang vertically - more visible than a flag on a pole propped up (both flags are red!). Ruskies carry their flags and when the control point is taken the flag can be put over the German one (and dropped down when re-taken).

Probably the most practical way of doing it. We'll need at least 6" nails for the job though.
Edit - I just thought, seeing as there's no return to the safezone or cars (and therefore, the car park), what can we do about toilet arrangements? Do F&O really want people peeing (or worse!) in the tunnels? Andy went ballistic about it at UCAP. Can we get a portaloo at the "German" end, outside the steel doors? This would save loads of hassle, for the Krauts in particular.

I can't see anyone being caught short for No 2's - and if they have such a problem then should they be playing?
If they HAVE to go then we can't stop them leaving for the portaloo (or indeed disappearing to the safezone or their car but it will be very
and their loss of 'suspension of disbelief'.
Germans can have a slash well beyond the big doors, I don't think that will be a problem.

You're probably right Dave. Steve and I will just have to make sure the Russians let us know if they have to go and take a whizz.

Just thinking re Cyalume colour.
Some torches (particularly the German ones) have red filters which people use. I'll get blue to avoid confusion.
S

LOL, the German torches have red, green and blue!
A red stick held in the air shouldn't be mistaken for a torch, I wouldn't have thought.

Could you check with Jamie re the pyro position please Stephen. Will he have kit for sale, if so how much, and can punters bring their own if TLSFX.

Have already texted him, am awaiting a reply.
